About Ryan Dill
I am a Sophomore at Drexel University currently as an Animation and VFX major. I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. My goal is to work on character designs/animations in the gaming industry, as that is where most of my inspiration for my pieces comes from. I have been interested in animating for a long time but have only recently done it in college through my classes. I have dabbled in both 2D and 3D animation. I have used Flip-a-clip in the past to make 2D animations, but I have started using Procreate Dreams for 2D and I use Maya for my 3D animations.
My personal pieces typically consist of my favorite characters from video games, anime, or other pieces of media that interest me as well as original characters that I have created. My original characters either first appear on a character sheet I make for them, or I just go straight into a scenic piece and figure it out as I go. I have also drawn some fan-made Pokémon that I usually try to give some kind of information like their typing, any special abilities or moves, and a basic description of their nature.
I took an interest in figure drawing recently because I wanted to be able to improve the posing and anatomy of my characters. The class I am taking turned out to be fun and informative and helped me improve my skills. Sometimes I post any recent pieces I have completed on my Instagram. It’s just a fun thing for me to do and it allows me to keep art that I’m proud of all in one place.
